In November 2013, the UAE was awarded the right to host the 2020 World Expo at the 154th Plenary Session of the Bureau of International Exhibitions.
Expo dubai 2020 is a registered Expo approved by the International Bureau of Expositions. It will be held from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021. It is the first Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The theme of the Expo is “Connecting Ideas, Creating the Future”, with three sub-themes: “Opportunity”, “mobility” and “sustainability”. The Expo Dubai site, located in southwest Dubai, covers an area of about 438 hectares with a fenced area of about 200 hectares.
